How it works

We have invested a lot of effort in building our platform as simple as possible for everyone to reserve a parking space seamlessly, without attending two-week offsite training šŸ˜Š

There are two main use cases for parking spot utilization within our platform.

First, you can have access to a pool of parking spaces that are available to you and your colleagues for booking. The number of available parking slots will depend on how many of your colleagues will be traveling to work as well. Based on our research and data, the parking utilization is well distributed among commuters and remote workers on any given day.

Second, you can have a dedicated parking space (you will see it immediately after login into Nearby). In this case, you have the spot fully for your usage, but you can use Nearby to share it with your colleagues when you donā€™t need it.

Parking reservation

Letā€™s start with the most common use case: you do not have your own dedicated parking space. After logging into Nearby, the main component youā€™ll see is a blue reservation module.

On top of that module is a dropdown menu where you can select locations (if there is more than one for your company). Below is a reservation calendar. You can select multiple days when you would like to use the parking space. The yellow-orange color scale represents availability: the darker the color, the fewer spaces remain. Dark orange with a note ā€œFullā€ means there are no more available parking spaces for the selected day. However, you can still create a request for parking and you will be placed in line. There is still a chance to get a space: Someone can cancel their reservation or someone can share their dedicated parking space (we proactively reach out to such users if there is high demand). If some spot becomes available, we will automatically reserve it for you and let you know (of course, depending on when you become ā€œfirst in lineā€).

Releasing dedicated space

If you have your own dedicated parking space, you can share it (release it) with your colleagues when you donā€™t need it. We encourage you to do it since it can really help out some of your colleagues who could come to the office by car and use the spot. It also positively contributes to your companyā€™s culture.

Do you plan to work from home, take a vacation, or simply use public transportation to come to the office? Then itā€™s the right time to open the Nearby app and share your space. Ideally, you should do it in advance to let your colleagues know there will be additional space available.

What happens if you change your mind? Well, we cannot guarantee it, but we will do our best to get you a spot unless the garage is completely booked-out.

Itā€™s all about the experience

We want to make sure that the parking procedure is as simple and as quick as possible. This is why we provide you with an effortless and reliable way to book your parking. If you feel like something would work better for you or your company, please donā€™t hesitate to reach out to us.
